RTJ: Everyone’s holding their breath waiting for the new album. When might we see the new album?
Hughie: Well I can tell you that I mastered it yesterday. It is done. We’re just about done with all the packaging that goes along with it. The title of the record is Once An Outlaw then you turn it over and it’s Always An Outlaw. A little play on words there. It should be a couple of months still until it hits the stores because we’re not sure who we’re going to sign with yet. We’ve got several offers on the table and I have my own record company as well. We’re going to wait and see what happens but one way or another we will get this thing released. We had a lot of fun doing it, there are great songs on it and we’ve been working on it for about a year and a half. We wanted to make sure it was the best it could be. We’re sorry for the wait but it’s going to be worth it.
RTJ: So you may put it on your own label.
Hughie: Yeah. Yeah, why not? Everybody’s doing it. You don’t have to have a record company these days to get your product out to the people who want to buy it and listen to it. They can download it. They can buy it from Amazon, they can buy it from our web site, and we even have them at the shows. We’ll make sure it’s available to the masses.
RTJ: What can you tell us about the new album?
Hughie: Well I can tell you that if you like the old Outlaws stuff you’re going to love this. It’s reminiscent of our first three or four records but it’s got a little more edge to it. It’s got a little twang to it. I feel we put a little country in the rock. There are some ballads on it; Once A Cowboy is one of the songs. There’s another song that I wrote Color Em’ Gone which is about Nasscar guys. Rippin’ Through Kentucky is a great song. We did a song by a songwriter by the name of Jeffrey Steele, we did some of his songs and we have a lot of our own songs on there. Randy, my bass player, Randy Threet, he wrote a song, he and his wife wrote a song called Almost Home which we did which talks about the truth but in a really positive way without being, how can I put this, without jumping on the bandwagon. It was just really done well and it’s written very well. I think everybody’s going to get the message. Chris Anderson, my other guitar player brought me a song called Trail Of Tears that he wrote which we were doing for a while and I asked him to go back and re-write the lyrics. If he was going to sing about The Trail Of Tears we needed to be more accurate so as not to insult the Native Americans in any way. So he did. He went and did his research and came back and the song turned out fantastic. It’s just great respect for Native Americans and we’re proud of that. There’s a little bit of something on there for everybody...

Znalazlem informacje jakoby Mary Louise wraz z Chris'em Hicks'em tworzyla zespol The Outlaws Revisited. Trudno ten fakt w jakikolwiek sposob potwiedzic, gdzy zupelnie cicho na ten temat nawet na oficjalnej stronie Chris'a.

Dear Fans,

Devastation ensued at the loss of my husband Hughie Thomasson. A wonderful father, family man, a gifted artist and the most wonderful man on the planet. From the moment of his passing the wolves started circling. Henry Paul, taking a dramatic opportunity to claim the Outlaws in front of a packed chapel, then leaves before the funeral begins saying he had business to do. Monte.... never showed up to the funeral. The weeks, months, and years to come would be filled with various attacks on all fronts. One of which was the take over of Hughies website, Outlawsmusic.com.

I thank the Skynyrd family for memorializing Hughie, the fans and friends have been wonderful too, I am sure Hughie is proud.

Hughie and I were devoted to our faith, each other, family and the Outlaws. Our devotion continues strong, sure and proud.

Hughie was the face and the heart of the Outlaws for 39 years. The single constant in the history of the Outlaws and " Mr. Outlaw" ALWAYS. As the keeper of the Outlaws legacy, Hughie has left me endless music and media, this website is the beginning of a bright new view of Hughies "Star dusty trails", the band members, and the music. New music as well as live concerts of Hughie's bands' finest hours.

Dear Fans,

I continue to pray for a band that continues to heartlessly tear my life apart and the legacy of my precious husband. They are actually trying to rewrite history....no record in twenty years. The reason for the limited edition is the tally....THEY WON'T SELL MANY. Probably as many as the remake of GGHT and other Hughie songs. Coming out with a record while keeping OAO sidelined because it would infringe on Henry Paul's takeover. I do pray for them and especially for their wives and families, what's in store for them?

Hughie and I spent our life together supporting and protecting the "Outlaws":

I was a medical administrator when Hughie asked me to help him with the Outlaws in early 1994. We had discussed it for years but now the Outlaws were in desperate need. The hesitation was because we wanted to protect our relationship from the nastiness to come. We would swear an oath to make our love drive our work. Respect was the keystone to our future. This was no problem for we had an abundance of love and respect for each other. The road has been rugged but we would thrive together while looking forward. We found solace in each others arms, a place where the world around us would go silent. The next ten years I spent most of my time paying Outlaws debts and taxes. It was tough but we came through it with our heads held high and an opportunity for a new beginning for the Outlaws. We continued to work together through the Skynyrd years and beyond to support, protect and promote the Outlaws.

These were happy and productive years for all. Skynyrd was proud to have an Outlaw on their stage and by the time Hughie left they would add another Outlaw to their line-up for they were all cut from the same cloth, brothers one and all. Hughie couldn't feel more honored about being a part of the Skynyrd family. They had played together quite a bit before the plane crash and Ronnie Van Zant had a hand in the Outlaws success, that wasn't lost on Hughie. Hughie was very proud to be honored by MCA for helping to make the Skynyrd catalog Platinum. During those Skynyrd years we would put out the Outlaws "So Low" CD and the Outlaws would be inducted into the Florida Music Hall Of Fame. Hughie would take time off from Skynyrd to be at the opening of the exhibit which would tour the state for the following year. Arista would re-release the Outlaws Records on CD. The Skynyrd stage would shed a bright light on the Outlaws and Hughie would carry Skynyrd in his heart till his passing.

Hughie was a "Man's Man". I loved that! He was the boss, always. I tried to give him more options when he was told there was only one way to deal with things. He would weigh the facts and make his decision. It was about doing the RIGHT thing for everybody concerned, not what was just best for him. Knowing that made it easy to follow through with his directions and I must admit I was proud of him.

Then, HE WAS GONE! With so much more to do and so much more to give, HE WAS GONE! What would you do?? I have loved Hughie from the age of sixteen, I gave birth to his daughter. After ten years of separation we found each other again (Hughie wrote "Hearts Run Wild" about the experience).We would make sense of our lives, of our faith. Together we learned how to give back to the world what was so graciously given to us, by our Father, our Lord.

Hughie asked me to trademark the "Outlaws" after there was an "Outlaws" show booked with the"Marshall Tucker" band in California in 1999. We hired an attorney to stop that show. Hughie was advised to trademark "Outlaws", he would give me the job for Outlawlessness Productions Inc. to hire the trademark attorney. At the time there was a Rap group that had filed an "Intent to use", trademark "Outlawz"a month before us. We would fight that for ten years till the end of 2009, when we would negotiate the use of "Outlawz" in the Rap genre only and they would cease the use of "Outlaws Records" altogether. Then Henry Paul would pounce. If we hadn't protected the trademark it would have been lost! From 1999 to 2009 Henry Paul showed no objection or interest, now he sees my loss of Hughie as a weakness and as I have stated, "He has pounced". They have again taken over our merchandise and have stopped paying the 4% for use of the Outlaws name saying we have no rights. How is this possible??? They are jumping to put out an Outlaws CD, just to use the name, no heart....no Outlaws, just Henry Paul and his massive ego.

I'm crying out in desperation and loss. This is not what I do. I know everyone has their own problems and I'm sorry to share mine but what else can I do? Why and how do they get away with this? How do they sleep at night? They dishonor themselves and the legacy. In legal documents the current Outlaws members describe themselves also as members of Blackhawk and the Henry Paul Band and make the statement "They don't need the Outlaws". Why can't they take Blackhawk and the Henry Paul Band and leave us be? They have already successfully blurred the line between the three bands. Is it the "BOYS CLUB" against the " WIDOW"?

I ask for your prayers for myself and my family to keep us strong to fight the fight.
