W odpowiedzi "kanczenkondze" n/t "Round Midnight" w wykonaniu Wes Montgomery'ego nie mam innego określenia jak - CUDOWNE. Miód na moje serce. Na takiej muzyce kiedyś się wychowywałem. A trzeba wiedzieć i zapewne starsi pamiętają, że w latach 60-ych takie rzeczy grało się na dancingach z improwizacjami oczywiście i ludzie na tym tańczyli! Sam miałem tą przyjemność grać standardy amerykańskie na dancingach w Warszawie. Muzycy tam grający mieli te standardy w "palcu". Właśnie tam najwięcej się nauczyłem z dziedziny harmonii. Wyobrażcie więc sobie, że na takich dancingach zdarzało się grać z gitarzystami i pianistami grającymi takie utwory z takimi funkcjami. Ambicją gitarzystów i pianistów było grać te funty. I je grali! I tylko ci byli szanowani. Inni nie wchodzili na scenę nawet w restauracji. Grałem wtedy na klarnecie i saksie. Po zagraniu tematu trzeba było zagrać improwizację. To była bardzo skuteczna szkoła improwizacji i nauki o funkcjach. W przerwach pomiędzy blokami muzycznymi ( po trzy utwory) bywały dyskusje, czy w tym miejscu zagrać taką lub inną funkcję. Jak teraz widzę właśnie co grają obecnie gitarzyści, to w większości jest to popłuczyna popłuczyny tego co grało się dawniej. A gra Wes Mongomery'ego w tym kawałku to udowadnia.
