Rozumiem, że wszyscy ma za sobą lektury takie jak Winnetou i Złoto Gór Czarnych. Razem z przygodami Tomka Wilmowskiego, za szczeniaka przeczytałem to wszytko po kilka razy. Ulubione tomy to chyba po 6-8 razy!

Stąd biorą się obecnie "Ostatni Mohikanie"...

Chciałbym kiedyś doczekać czasów kiedy będę te pozycję czytał jakiemuś szkrabowi... Po rozdziale dziennie resztę sam przeczyta... Też go pewnie porwie...

Kurcze! Panowie
Kto nie wychował się na powieściach Karola Maya czy Alfreda Szklarskiego. Przeczytałem dosłownie wszystko! Wciąż byłbym chyba w stanie wskazać tereny zajmowane przez poszczególne plemiona na mapie USA.
Jestem z rocznika 76`. Ciekawe czy dziś dzieciaki albo trochę młodsza młodzież też to jeszcze czyta? O ile w ogóle coś czytają...

A przecież my też mieliśmy swojego Indianina (właściwe półkrwi, ale co tam...) imieniem Sath Okh - syna polskiej uciekinierki z Syberii oraz wodza z plemienia Shawnee urodzonego w Kanadzie prawdopodobnie ok. 1920 r. (polskie imię i nazwisko: Stanisław Supłatowicz). Niektórzy nadmiernie koloryzowali jego biografię przypisując pokrewieństwo nawet ze słynnym Tecumsehem, inni wręcz próbowali z sobie tylko znanych powodów kwestionować jego niezaprzeczalnie indiańskie korzenie, sugerując, że w rzeczywistości urodził się w Radomiu )!!
W 1937 lub 1938 wrócił jednak do Polski, gdzie zastała go II wojna światowa. Uciekł z transportu do Oświęcimia, walczył pod ps. Kozak w szeregach AK, kilkukrotnie ranny. Po wojnie za tę przynależność był szykanowany i więziony przez komuchów. Po odwilży pracował w żegludze transoceanicznej, pływał m.in. na słynnym "Stefanie Batorym".
Najbardziej zasłynął jednak oczywiście jako autor powieści o Indianach np. Biały Mustang, Fort nad Athabaską lub Głos Prerii. Pamiętam, że niektóre z tych pozycji były nawet za późnej komuny lekturami szkolnymi. Czytałem je z wielką przyjemnością.

Zmarł w 2003 r. w Gdańsku. [*]

Jeszcze jedna ważna postać mi się przypomniała.
Wiesław Wernic i jego cykl powieści - westernów przygodowych dziejących się pod koniec XIX w. na terenie USA i Kanady, których bohaterami byli doktor Jan, będący alter ego samego autora oraz jego przyjaciel - niezrównany westman Karol Gordon.

To się czytało!!!!
Muszę poszukać gdzieś książek z tej serii... są w piwnicy albo na działce - chętnie bym do nich wrócił
